It is important to make sure they’re not crammed full of leaves and gunk that can not only look unsightly, but that can potentially cause damage to your customers home.

Gutters can wear down over the years and if they are not properly taken care of, they can break easily.

Leaky gutters can also cause water to pool on the roof and eventually leak inside the roof or down the interior walls. By the time you notice water inside, you could be facing costly damage repairs.

For safety concerns, only agree to clean gutters if you have the proper tools and safety equipment. Shoes or work boots with good grip on the soul, a sturdy ladder and gloves that have good grip to hold into the ladder or water hose are important.

When someone without experience climbs onto a roof to clean the gutters, it’s possible to accidentally pry the gutter loose, thereby causing damage to the roof by tearing away the fascia near the gutters or even stepping on the wrong spot and tearing a hole in the roof.
